Falling in love with Khalif, a man who seemed perfect, Kemba soon learns the dark truth—he's a drug kingpin who grooms her to overlook his illicit activities. Despite never handling or dealing drugs, Kemba is unjustly sentenced for her boyfriend’s crimes, caught in the crossfire of the government’s “war on drugs.” Through the relentless support of her parents and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, a powerful campaign for clemency is launched, rallying Black civic organizations, sororities, celebrities, and lawmakers to seek justice and freedom for Kemba.
